The course
Track, profile and categorized climbs at a glance. The map and altimetry come from the real GPX track; tap a numbered climb for its detail.
Official profile
Official distance and elevation with a mountain profile. We estimate your times from those numbers.
Estimate by level
Without a GPX we still estimate your time from the official distance, elevation and terrain profile. We will refine it once the track is processed.
Map, point-to-point profile and categorized climbs will appear here once we process the GPX track for this route.

What do I need to know?
Ridium's training read and the caveats before you trust the times.
Training read 路 Ridium AIA demanding 130 km mountain gran fondo on open roads across the high plateau between Toluca and Valle de Bravo. Expect sustained climbing at altitude and a timed 7:30 a.m. mass start. Build deep aerobic endurance over about 14 weeks and arrive ready to pace long efforts above 2,000 m.
- Endurance
Target about 14 weeks of base building toward long rides of 4-5 hours so 130 km of rolling mountain terrain feels repeatable. Your longest rides should approach the expected race duration before a 2-3 week taper.
- Climbing
The course runs through mountainous terrain between Toluca and Valle de Bravo, so train sustained 10-30 minute tempo and threshold climbs. Practise seated, steady-power climbing rather than repeated surges to protect your legs for the back half.
- Altitude
The Toluca plateau sits around 2,600 m and the route stays high all day, so usable power drops versus sea level. If you live low, arrive a few days early or accept a slightly easier climbing pace and a higher perceived effort.
- Pacing
It is a timed event with a 7:30 a.m. mass start, but the first kilometres are crowded: hold back early, settle into legal groups, and ride the long climbs at a controlled, even effort to avoid blowing up at altitude.
- Fueling
Plan 60-90 g of carbohydrate per hour for a multi-hour effort and start drinking early; the dry highland air and altitude raise fluid and energy needs. Check aid-station spacing and carry enough to bridge the gaps.
- Technical
Roads are not fully closed, so stay alert for traffic, junctions and other riders, especially on the fast descents off the high ground. Brake earlier than usual and hold your line in the bunch.
Caveats
- An official elevation profile and detailed climb list were not published, so plan around mountainous terrain and a high starting altitude.
- Roads are shared with traffic, so ride defensively.
