What do I need to know?

Ridium's training read and the caveats before you trust the times.

Training read 路 Ridium AIThe 130 km route at Struggle NYM is a hilly road ride in the North York Moors that asks for solid aerobic endurance and the ability to handle repeated steep efforts.

  • Climbing

Build the ability to repeat short, steep efforts, since the route's steep Yorkshire climbs reward riders who can recover quickly between punchy ramps rather than relying on a single sustained climb.

  • Endurance

Anchor your preparation on progressively longer aerobic rides toward the 130 km distance so the cumulative climbing is comfortable, allowing roughly 10 weeks of consistent build if you are starting from a moderate base.

  • Fueling

Rehearse steady on-bike fueling during long training rides so eating and drinking stay consistent across the rolling profile rather than only on the flat sections.

Caveats
  • No public GPX analysis was available for this route, so gradient and elevation detail are limited; treat climb specifics as provisional.
  • The official source lists the event's named climbs at event level but does not publish which appear on this shorter variant.
