What do I need to know?

Ridium's training read and the caveats before you trust the times.

Training read · Ridium AIThe Psycho Killer is the 161 km marquee distance with a hilly profile and roughly 2134 m of climbing, demanding long gravel endurance, rough two-track handling, and sustained climbing late in a multi-hour day. With about 14 weeks of preparation, the focus is durable aerobic fitness, repeated long rides, and a rehearsed fueling plan so the back half stays controlled.

  • Endurance

Build a base of long rides progressing toward the 161 km distance so the high endurance demand and roughly 2134 m of climbing feel manageable rather than overwhelming.

  • Climbing

Train sustained and repeated climbing across the full route's elevation, since the hilly profile asks for steady power on long gravel grades over many hours.

  • Technical

Practice two-track and loose-gravel handling under fatigue so bike control and line choice hold up on the rougher sectors when your legs are already tired.

  • Fueling

Use the recommended 14-week window to rehearse a detailed drinking and eating plan on your longest rides, because a 161 km hilly gravel effort makes consistent fueling decisive.
