Why a Strava activity looks incomplete
Strava rides reach Ridium as minimal placeholders through Intervals.icu — here's what's missing, why, and what the estimated load means.
How Strava rides get here at all
Ridium has no Strava connection of its own — Strava activities arrive through Intervals.icu. If you want them to appear, connect Strava inside Intervals.icu; Ridium then receives what Intervals.icu is allowed to pass on.
Why they look thin
Strava's API terms limit what partners can forward, so these rides arrive as minimal placeholders — you'll see them named "Activity in Strava" with no power zones, no heart-rate detail, and no effort ratings. If the same ride later arrives from a device source (Garmin, Wahoo, a file upload), the full version replaces the placeholder.
Where the training load number comes from
So your fitness tracking doesn't develop holes, Ridium estimates the training load of Strava-only rides from the day's overall load recorded in your Intervals.icu wellness. One Strava ride on a day gives a solid estimate; several on the same day split the day's load between them, which is cruder. If there is no wellness record for that day, no estimate is possible and the ride contributes zero load.
The better setup
If your rides are recorded on a bike computer, connect that device directly to Intervals.icu and let Strava be a mirror, not the source. Full files mean real power data, real zones, and no estimation.
Troubleshooting
A Strava ride shows a load number that seems off.
Why it happens: It's an estimate derived from your day's total load — with multiple Strava rides on one day it's split evenly.
How to fix it: Nothing is broken. For accurate numbers, get the original file into Intervals.icu (device connection or upload) so it replaces the placeholder.
