Help/Training with Ridium/Create and adjust your annual training plan

Create and adjust your annual training plan

Build a season plan with training blocks and weekly targets, apply it to your calendar, and modify it when life happens.

Build the plan

The season planning conversation designs a full annual plan around your confirmed goals: periodized training blocks (base, build, peak, race, recovery) and weekly load targets leading into your key events.

01

Make sure your goals are set (see the goals interview guide).

02

Start a season planning conversation.

03

Review the proposed plan β€” blocks, weekly hours or load, and how they ladder up to your A race.

04

Ask for changes in plain language: "cap weeks at 8 hours", "add a recovery week in March".

05

Apply the plan. The season structure is written to your Intervals.icu calendar.

Modify an existing plan

Plans are living documents. Reopen a season planning conversation and describe what changed β€” an injury, a new race date, more available time β€” and the coach proposes an updated plan showing exactly what would change before you apply it. If you use the Claude/ChatGPT connector, plan changes work there too with the same propose-then-confirm flow.

How the plan interacts with daily coaching

Once applied, the plan becomes context for every conversation: daily workout suggestions respect the current block and weekly target, and the coach flags when you're drifting from plan.

When it doesn't work

Troubleshooting

Applying the plan seems to have created duplicate season events.

Why it happens: An older copy of the season structure already existed on the calendar.

How to fix it: Re-apply the plan β€” Ridium converges season and block markers instead of stacking new copies. If duplicates persist, contact support.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an annual plan to use the coach?
No, but daily recommendations get noticeably better with one β€” the coach knows which phase you're in and what the week should look like.
Can I edit the plan directly in Intervals.icu?
You can, but changes made there aren't proposals Ridium can reason about. Prefer editing through the coach so the plan and its rationale stay in sync.
