Help/How it works in Ridium/Configure and review your FTP and power zones

Configure and review your FTP and power zones

Set the right reference in Intervals.icu, sync it, and check exactly which FTP and zones Ridium is using.

Intervals.icu is the editable source

Ridium does not maintain a second FTP configuration. It reads your Intervals.icu profile settings and stores them so the coach, workouts, and analyses use the same reference. You can review these values in Ridium, but you cannot edit them there: every correction starts in Intervals.icu.

Configure cycling FTP and zones

Make these changes in the cycling sport settings in Intervals.icu, not under running or another sport.

01

Open Intervals.icu, go to Settings, and find the cycling power configuration.

02

Enter your current outdoor cycling FTP. If you use a genuinely different trainer reference, configure indoor FTP as well.

03

Review “Power Zones for FTP…”. Choose your model or preset and adjust percentage boundaries and zone names when needed.

04

Save the changes and check that the resulting watt ranges make sense for your FTP.

05

If Intervals.icu suggests a new eFTP, review it before updating FTP. eFTP is an estimate; configured FTP changes only when you accept it or enter another value.

Sync and verify the result in Ridium

Profile is a read-only check of the imported data. If a value is wrong, return to Intervals.icu, correct it, and sync again.

01

Open Ridium after saving your changes in Intervals.icu.

02

Use “Sync now” in the sidebar indicator, or wait for the next automatic sync.

03

Go to Account → Profile and find your athlete metrics.

04

Check FTP and the power-zone table. Ridium converts the imported percentages into watt ranges using the synced FTP.

Current FTP does not rewrite your history

Intervals.icu copies FTP and zones to each activity when it analyzes it. Changing today's setting affects future activities but does not automatically correct older ones. To repair history, open the activity list, show the FTP column, select the relevant date range, and use bulk edit to apply the correct FTP. If the zone model also changed, update the zones for those activities separately.

When it doesn't work

Troubleshooting

Ridium still shows the previous FTP.

Why it happens: The profile has not synced since the change, or profile sync failed.

How to fix it: Select “Sync now” and return to Account → Profile. If Ridium asks you to fix credentials, reconnect Intervals.icu under Account → Integrations. Contact support if a clean sync keeps the old value.

Ridium shows FTP but no power zones.

Why it happens: The imported primary configuration has no usable zone boundaries and names, or cycling FTP is empty.

How to fix it: Review the cycling sport in Intervals.icu, set a valid FTP, and save a power-zone preset or boundaries. Then sync again.

Ridium's zones appear to belong to another sport.

Why it happens: Ridium currently imports the first sport-settings block returned by the Intervals.icu profile, which may differ from the expected cycling setup for a multisport account.

How to fix it: Check sport order and settings in Intervals.icu, sync again, and review Account → Profile. Contact support if Ridium still selects the wrong sport.

Older activities still use different watts although Ridium Profile is correct.

Why it happens: Profile shows current settings; each activity keeps the FTP and zones assigned historically by Intervals.icu.

How to fix it: Correct FTP by date range in the Intervals.icu activity list and update the affected activities' zones too. Then sync Ridium.

Frequently asked questions

Are FTP and eFTP the same value?
No. FTP is the configured reference used for zones. eFTP is an estimate from the power curve and replaces FTP only when you accept it or make the change manually.
Can I edit FTP directly in Ridium?
No. Account → Profile is read-only. Edit the value in Intervals.icu and sync to preserve one source of truth.
Does Ridium use indoor FTP for every workout?
Ridium imports both primary and indoor FTP when available. The reference used depends on the feature and context, so set a different indoor FTP only when it represents a real difference.
Does changing current FTP automatically fix historical training load?
No. Activities keep their historical FTP. Correct the affected date ranges in the Intervals.icu activity list and sync again.
