Simulate a race
Predict your time on a course with the physics-based simulator, from an event page or the standalone simulator.
Where to simulate
Two entry points: the standalone simulator (public, at /simulator), and the "estimate my time" panel on event route pages. Signed in with data connected, your FTP and weight are pre-filled from your profile; otherwise enter them manually.
Run a simulation
The simulation solves the actual physics of the course β gravity, rolling resistance, aerodynamics β over the real elevation profile.
Pick a course β an event route, or parameters you set yourself.
Check the rider inputs: power, weight, and position matter most.
Read the results: predicted finish time, splits over the key climbs, and how the effort distributes across the course.
Ask the coach
You can also ask the coach things like "how long would the Marmotte take me?" in chat β it runs the same simulation with your current numbers and explains the result.
Troubleshooting
The prediction looks too optimistic (or pessimistic).
Why it happens: Predictions are dominated by the power and weight inputs; small input errors compound over long courses.
How to fix it: Verify FTP and total weight (rider + bike + kit). Treat the output as a well-informed estimate, not a promise β day conditions matter.
