What do I need to know?
Ridium's training read and the caveats before you trust the times.
Training read · Ridium AIThe 170 km route at Paris-Roubaix Challenge 2026 is a classics-style ride over cobbled sectors where handling on the pavé matters as much as fitness.
- Technical
Train bike handling and a relaxed, firm grip for the cobbled sectors; experiment with slightly lower tyre pressure and staying on top of the gear to float over the stones.
- Endurance
Build endurance toward the 170 km distance with some rough or repeated-effort terrain, because cobbles batter the body and the demand is cumulative, allowing roughly 16 weeks of build.
- Pacing
Get into position before each sector and hold a steady, strong effort across it rather than surging, since accelerating on the cobbles is costly and risks losing control.
- Fueling
Fuel regularly on the smoother sections between sectors, since eating and drinking on the pavé itself is difficult.
